Milk Street Cafe
I was sorely disappointed this morning to find that Milk Street Cafe was not a bastion of beautiful breakfast baked goods as I had hoped, but rather just another coporate sandwich joint desperately trying to distinguish itself.
Perhaps I'm being a bit too harsh as I didn't sample any of the grilled panini or other sandwiches. But, according to Citysearch, this place is suppposed to be renowned for breakfast goods (even nominated in 2003 for Best Breakfast). All I found were two trays of bagels and run-of-the-mill muffins and pastries in a blindingly stale chain decor.
I sighed and chose a somewhat stunted cranberry muffin (all top and no body!) that was supposedly baked on the premises. In truth, it wasn't half-bad; my experience consuming suffered primarily because I was dismayed it wasn't something fancier.
