The First of Many Quests: The Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie

A very recent episode of home baking has just inspired me.

The chocolate chip cookie has always been my favorite food, consistently winning all varieties of the "if you were on a desert island…" hypotheticals. The brown sugary cookie with golden-rim edges is the perfect showcase for the ectasty-inducing morsel, the chocolate chip. And this is an understatement.

I will search Brighton, Brookline, Back Bay, and all areas in between for Boston's Best Chocolate Chip Cookie. Cookies will be judged on a 1 to 10 scale in the following categories: Chewiness, Texture, Chip Quality, and "MMM" factor. Don't ask for a definition of the last criterion; I know it when I taste it. Nominations and suggestions gladly appreciated.

pick me! pick me!

The “fresh baked cookies” at Top of the Hub are ridiculous.
they must seriously have trays of dough sitting there and when you order them they pop them in the preheated oven and bring them out with chantilly cream when they’re ready.
the rest of the food there isn’t that impressive (especially for the tightness of reservations)

I love the Keebler Soft Batch chocolate chip cookies. High in trans fat though. –Bunshes
