Get the Special, Silly
Critics claim Michael's Deli in Brookline has one of the best corned beef sandwiches in Boston, so why did I get the tuna fish?
Eh, probably because I haven't loved the corned beef sandwiches I've tried thus far. And, like most people, I have loyalties to particular lunch dishes. Don't get me wrong: Michael's tuna (light on the mayonnaise, with celery and small flakes of pepper) served on fluffy whole wheat with a pickle wedge was fine, very fine, indeed, but nothing to make your eyes roll back.
So, no intense review for Michael's this time, for it would be a colossal disservice to call them bland after just sampling regular old tuna. Lesson learned: always try what dish a restaurant is for, even if it deviates (gulp) from your routine. Next time, give me the corned beef.
To be continued….
